Web3 chain selection

For the Alpha product, the Ethereum blockchain will be used. This is because of:

  • Well developed ecosystem of tools (eg. oracles)

  • Established programming language (Solidity), large and supportive developer community

  • Deep liquidity and access to DeFi markets

  • Existing demand and product-market-fit for the use of USDT in cross-border transactions

We will also consider whether other chains would be more suitable. Once the v1 testing is complete with the Alpha product and the full needs of the Beta solution are understood, we will make an objective decision based on the spec for the Beta solution.
